Two Marie-Curie postdoctoral fellowships awarded to the University of Angers!
The University of Angers was recently granted two postdoctoral fellowships as part of the Horizon Europe's Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. The first funding will go to Gabriel Machovsky-Capuska, an Australian-Argentinian senior scientist who will join the University of Angers as a postdoctoral researcher within the LETG research unit. The second funding has been awarded to François Drémeaux, a UA researcher from the TEMOS laboratory, who will carry out a research project in Sacramento (USA).
UA’s Cap Europe helpdesk contributed to this success through the close support they provide to applicants and their new "Springboard to Marie Skłodowska-Curie" scheme, which aims to improve the quality of applications.
The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions are the European Union’s reference programme for doctoral education and postdoctoral training. They contribute to excellent research, boosting jobs, growth and investment by equipping researchers with new knowledge and skills. They foster research cooperation across borders, sectors and disciplines.
The MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships aim to support the creative and innovative potential of postdoctoral researchers wishing to acquire new skills through advanced training, international, interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral mobility.
There are 2 types of Postdoctoral Fellowships:
- European Postdoctoral Fellowships (EF). They are open to researchers moving within Europe or coming to Europe from another part of the world to pursue their research career. These fellowships take place in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country and can last between 1 and 2 years. Researchers of any nationality can apply.
- Global Postdoctoral Fellowships (GF). They fund the mobility of researchers outside Europe. The fellowship lasts between 2 to 3 years, of which the first 1 to 2 years will be spent in a non-associated Third Country, followed by a mandatory return phase of 1 year to an organisation based in an EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country. Only nationals or long-term residents of the EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries can apply.
