Erasmus+ projects

In recent years, the Erasmus+ programme for higher education has enabled the University of Angers to secure funding for numerous projects, involving or led by UA academic staff, which are currently underway. These projects address the challenges of internationalising degree programmes and promoting research. They contribute to the international reputation of the University of Angers.

  • KA171 – Mobility of Higher Education students and staff supported by external policy funds

    Key Action 171 uses the European Union’s external policy funds to support mobility projects for students and higher education staff between Erasmus+ programme member countries and non-associated third countries (outside Europe).
    These may include outgoing and incoming mobility activities for students and education staff in higher education.

  • RAVENALA – Academic Network for the Development of Teachers, New Approaches and Active Learning – Capacity Buidling in Higher Education (2025-2028)

    The RAVENALA project – Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) – aims to train and strengthen the teaching practices of lecturers at several universities in Madagascar and the Comoros.

    Coordinated by the University of Angers, this project is led by the pedagogical team from Lab’UA who wish to share and pass on their practices to meet the needs of teachers in Madagascar and the Comoros. With the support of the Learning Lab at the Catholic University of Louvain, a Moodle platform has been created featuring resources and workshops based on active learning, aimed at the hundred and more teachers involved in the project. Particular attention is paid to the role of female teachers within institutions, with the involvement of local associations to work on gender equality in higher education.

  • CarCade – Cultivating Knowledge, Harvesting Food Security: Strengthening University Capacities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo – Capacity Building in Higher Education (2024-2027)

    The CarCade capacity-building project, coordinated by the University of Parma in collaboration with the University of Angers (Lab'UA), the University of Lomami, the University of Mbujimay, and the University of Mwene-Ditu, aims to overcome the challenges of isolation faced by the three HEIs in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

    In particular, the initiative aims to equip each of these institutions with a digital audiovisual classroom and train teachers in online teaching. CarCade takes an integrated approach by providing technological infrastructure, ensuring a sustainable energy supply, strengthening educational programs, and promoting applied research, while striving to break the academic isolation that hinders the progress of these institutions.

    The main role of Lab'UA is to train Congolese teachers in online pedagogy via the Moodle platform.

  • NEHCP – Nutrition Education for Health Care Professionals – KA220 Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education (2023-2026)

    The Nutrition Education for Health Care Professionals cooperation partnership project addresses the issue of nutrition skills among healthcare professionals. 

    The project aims to assess the current situation regarding the integration of nutrition into the initial training of doctors, pharmacists, physiotherapists and nurses in the five  countries. In particular, a guide and  an online training course will be developed to enable healthcare professionals, whether in initial training or already in practice, to bring their skills up to standard.

    The NEHCP project brings together five partners, including four partners from the EU-Green alliance:

    • Atlantic Technological University (Ireland), the project coordinator
    • University of Angers(France)
    • University of Gävle (Sweden)
    • University of Oradea (Romania)
    • as well as Uzhhorod National University of Ukraine.

  • SLS4Teens – Second Language Learning at School for all Teenagers – KA220 Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education (2023-2026)

    The Second Language Learning at School for all teenagers (SLS4Teens) project, which is a product of the EU-Green alliance is looking at the role of neurolinguistics in foreign and second language learning. 

    Coordinated by the University of Angers, this €400,000 programme is funded by the European Commission for 36 months from 1 November 2023. It brings together five universities, including three EU-Green partners (Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg (Germany), Universita Degli Studi di Parma (Italy) and Universidad de Extremadura (Spain)) and the University of Nantes.

    At the UA, Delphine Guedat-Bittighoffer, a teacher-researcher at Cirpall , is coordinating the project.

  • Short Forms Beyond Borders – Strategic partnership on short forms for educational innovation, cultural and social mediation in Europe (2020-2023)

    The relevance of short forms is becoming more and more visible in today's society. Brevity is becoming a way of doing things, a question of time and style, indeed of thinking (as in Twitter).

    Examples of short forms include short videos, text messages, short stories, Instagram stories, sound fragments, television series, short speeches, sales pitches, news briefs, slogans etc.

    SFBB partners are specialists of short forms from six European universities:

    It will work together to develop short forms as tools and objects of pedagogical innovation, cultural and social mediation in Europe.

    SFBB is a Strategic Partnerships project, part of the Erasmus+ programme, key Action 2: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices. The project will take place over a period of 24 months.

    Professors Cécile Meynard, Michelle Ryan-Sautour, Emmanuel Vernadakis (CIRPALL Research Centre) are in charge of this project at the University of Angers.

  • The Lighthouse – Law Clinic – Jean Monnet Module (2019-2024)

    The Lighthouse is a law clinic dedicated mainly to maritime migrations in Europe.

    It is part of the Master of International and European Law led by Professor Alina Miron and Professor Bérangère Taxil.

    This project aims to consolidate the synergy of their skills and research projects, already supported by the Pays de la Loire and by Alliance Europa:

    • competence in asylum and refugee law on one hand,
    • competence in law of the sea on the other hand.

    Thanks to this module, the students will become real legal advisers for some actors involved in practical activities, and for the civil society.

    The Lighthouse is a Jean Monnet Module, part of the Erasmus+ project programme.

  • Nanomed - Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Nanomedecine for drug delivery (2017-2025)

    Nanomed is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees, part of the Erasmus+ project programme, Key Action 1, Learning Mobility of Individuals. It is dedicated to nanotechnologies applied to health (nanomedicine for drug delivery).

    This curriculum gathers several European universities:

    The Nanomed Master's degree is an original 24-months program taught in English (4 semesters) in the field of nanomedicine applied to health through the delivery and vectorization of active molecules.

    This Master's program offers a high quality and  multidisciplinary education, aiming to develop the students' skills in various fields (chemistry, biotechnology, physical-chemistry, biology, pharmacotechnology, pharmaceutical development ...).

    Thanks to EU funding, 12 students are eligible each year for EU grants covering both the participation fees (to the curriculum) as well as their monthly expenses. To apply, candidates should hold  a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in either Biology or Chemistry; or a Medicine/Pharmacy degree.

    The associated Professor Emilie Roger (Faculty of Health, Pharmacy department) is in charge of this project at the University of Angers.
