Sujet : IMPACTS OF (A)BIOTIC STRESSES ON SEED MATURATION AND QUALITY
Directeur de Recherche : Monsieur Philippe GRAPPIN
RÉSUMÉ
Seeds are keystone of modern agriculture, serving both as crucial inputs and valuable outputs. This report focuses on years of study to understand the genetic regulatory mechanisms governing seed development and maturation to determine seed quality traits. This work, conducted across various international institutions, employed OMICS approaches, genetic studies, and reverse genetics to identify and validate genes influencing seed characteristics like composition, size, stress tolerance, longevity, and germination. Initially focused on the understanding of molecular processes during seed maturation, it has evolved to investigate the impact of abiotic and biotic stresses on seed development and epigenetic memory, with the long-term goal of improving seed performance and resilience in a changing climate.
