International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

In 1999, the UN decided to make November 25 the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
This year, the University of Angers is organizing a week dealing with the theme, through the prism of the work "Le Choeur des femmes" (The Women's Chorus), a novel by Martin Winckler.

This novel is a starting point for addressing the complex subject of violence against women in connection with gynaecological surgery and the dichotomy between technical gestures and listening to patients, as well as the broader issue of women's bodies in medicine. Throughout the week, there will be time for debate and exchange with artists, teacher-researchers and health professionals.
