CROUS | Student hall of residence

CROUS is a regional organization providing students with a wide range of services including accommodation and catering.

  • StudentS living in france

Applications must be submitted through the Student Social File (DSE) on the portal between January 15 and May 31 for occupancy beginning in the fall term. The deadline for renewal applications (students already accommodated in a university hall of residence) is March 31.

  • International  students

 Application must be submitted for accommodation from 2020, July 9th on the student portal ⇒ to find accommodation.

Frequently asked questions
- I am not a scholarship holder, can I benefit from the CROUS accommodation service?
Yes, but scholars (depending on their level) have priority in the assignment process.
- I am out of time to make my request.... what should I do?
Submit your request online as quickly as possible and send in the required supporting documents. If your choices of university residence halls have not been accepted, you will be informed of the wait list registration procedure.
- My housing application has been accepted, what should I do?
You will receive instructions for confirming your reservation. The confirmation must be provided through the student life portal Please note that deadlines for confirming your reservation are short!

STUDAPART | UA online housing platform

  • You are a student at University of Angers

All the steps for accommodation can be carried out through the platform. To get started, click on "Espace Locataire" and register either with your UA login or with your personal email address (you will then have to provide the Housingua code or a proof of admission at the University of Angers).

There are several private-owned student halls of residence in Angers, located near the university campuses. They generally offer auxiliary services such as a cafeteria, laundry services…).

Give a little time in exchange for friendly accommodation, at a lower cost. The association “Le temps pour toiT” lists home sharing offers and supplies support for shared housing in the Angers metropolitan area.

Bail = Lease: a legal contract defining the responsibility of both the landlord and the tenant

Garant / caution solidaire = Guarantor / Third party guarantee
: a natural or legal person (e. g. Action Logement) who undertakes to pay the rent in the event of default by the tenant.

Dépôt de garantie = Security deposit: amount requested at the beginning of the rental period to cover any damage. This amount can be collected by the landlord (lessor). The full amount of the security deposit is returned by the landlord to the tenant within one month after the inventory of fixtures or upon return of the keys; extended to two months if damage is noted.

Assurance habitation = Home insurance
: insurance contract that covers your personal liability and protects your home and its content against risks such as water damage, fire, theft, etc.

APL = Personalized Housing Assistance: Financial housing aid allocated by the Caisse d'Allocations Familiales (CAF), a public body providing financial assistance to help pay rent.

Préavis = Notice: The time limit that a tenant must respect before leaving his accommodation. It is one month for furnished rented accommodation and three months for empty rented accommodation, except in large metropolitan areas or tense areas.

Quittance de loyer = Rent receipt: receipt detailing the sums paid by the tenant. Rent and charges must be separate.

Taxe d'habitation = Housing tax: Annual residence tax imposed on the occupier of a property (tenant) in which they are resident on January 1 of each year. Its amount varies according to the size and situation of the property.
