Research in a more closely linked Europe and world
- The University policy of opening outward to the world is contributing to the creation of a European research area, and the University’s European Unit plays an important role in reaching our full potential. Created in 2005, the European Unit helps to encourage and to coordinate initiatives of all research groups in the Angers area, and not only those based at our university, and to off er help and advice as they participate in European Union programmes.
- The Ecoles Doctorales, which off er support and guidance for PhD students, see international mobility of doctoral students as a priority. Our international involvement for doctoral students consists in encouraging doctoral studies to be co-directed by French and international scholars, incorporating doctoral studies in European union programmes, making the search for European Union funding systematic and in helping the Ecoles Doctorales to become members of various international consortia and networks.
